Malaysia internet exchange JBIX attracts 20 ISP, corporate customers in first 3 months

Malaysian internet exchange Johor Bahru Internet Exchange (JBIX) has announced that it has peered with more than 20 internet service providers and corporations from Malaysia and across the region. JBIX currently has 5 corporate customers from the education and financial sector. “Some of them are currently in the process of applying for their IP addresses and AS number, which will be a first time venture for them”, the company said.

JBIX was launched in September 2018, allowing non-ISP licensed businesses and organisations to peer with each other. “So far […], we have counted over 20 participants 3-months after our launch. With the latest 5 additional participants coming from regional players”, JBIX added.

JBIX now connects ISP and corporations from Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and the US. New peering partners will have access to zero port charges until end of September 2019.
